Richmond Team

This month we meet...

Name Ben Pincus
Role Editor Secondary and Upper Secondary

1. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I was a teacher for 17 years and have always been interested in how students learn a second language, so I’m now enjoying being involved in an earlier part of the process. I’m also lucky to be able to work with some great people.

 2. What does your role involve?

My job involves helping to coordinate ESO projects. This means briefing, guiding and checking content for various components, including written, audio and video.

 3. Describe your favourite trip.

I’ve liked almost all the trips I’ve been on. So let’s go with my last one: a week in Hoi An in Vietnam, a week of relaxing and enjoying great food and very friendly people.

 4. What is your favourite food?
I’d have to say Vietnamese food. But I also like good Italian, Thai, Indian and of course Spanish food (though I’ll leave callos and criadillas to the locals.)

 5. Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Who doesn’t?

6. What is the last book you read?
The Untold History of the United States by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick: a nice bit of light reading on the Madrid Metro.

7. Do you have any hobbies?
Collecting musical instruments that I intend to learn to play properly one day.

8. Do you have any pets?
No. My landladies would have a fit.

9. What do you like to do in your free time?

I play guitar, mandolin and kazoo in a couple of bands, go to the movies a bit and watch and play football, though I’m better at the watching.
